Yair Lapid is the first Israeli minister to officially visit UAE

Tel Aviv, Jun 29(UNI) History was created on Tuesday when Israeli foreign minister Yair Lapid arrived in the United Arab Emiates on an official visit.
He will be inaugurating Israel’s embassy in Abu Dhabi and consulate in Dubai, besides holding discussions with the leadership of UAE, Al Jazeera reported.
Israel’s newly installed foreign minister will be hosted by his Emirati counterpart, Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the two top diplomats are expected to discuss a range of bilateral issues during the two-day visit of the Israeli minister, including economic cooperation, trade and security.
Israel normalized relations with the UAE and Bahrain last August under former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, whose 12-year grip on power ended earlier this month.
