Immigration Company Defrauds Woman on Pretext of Sending Her Abroad with Fake Documents….
Chandigarh: A woman from Zirakpur has been duped of Rs 48.59 lakh by an immigration company, which provided her with fake visa and travel documents under the guise of sending her abroad. The victim has filed a complaint at the Sector-17 Police Station, and an investigation has been launched against the immigration company operator and others involved in the scam.
The victim, a resident of B4-303 Maya Garden City in Zirakpur, approached the “Planet Overseas Immigration Company” to apply for a visa to go abroad. In exchange for the service, the company demanded and received a total of Rs 48.59 lakh from the woman. However, when she received the visa and ticket from the company, she realized they were fake. Upon discovering the fraud, the woman approached the company operators to get her money back, but they refused to return the amount.
Following the refusal, the woman reported the incident to the police. Based on her complaint, a case has been registered at Sector-17 Police Station against the director of “Planet Overseas,” Gurvinder Singh, along with others involved in the scam.
The police have now initiated an investigation to track down the culprits and bring them to justice. The case has raised concerns about the increasing number of fake immigration scams targeting individuals seeking employment or settlement abroad. The police are examining all the evidence, including the fraudulent documents, to ensure that the culprits are held accountable.
The incident has highlighted the importance of verifying immigration agencies and their credentials before making any payments. The police have advised the public to be cautious when dealing with agencies that ask for large sums of money upfront for visa and immigration services.
