Woman Arrested for Honey-Trapping Constable in Sriganganagar

Madhubala Soni and Husband Charged with Blackmail and Extortion…

Abohar: Sriganganagar police have arrested 27-year-old Madhubala Soni from Chak 12-Z village for allegedly honey-trapping a police constable and extorting money from him.

Madhubala, along with her husband Vicky Soni, faces charges in a blackmail and extortion case that came to light in September. The case was filed after a complaint by Constable Sandeep Jat, who was assigned as the “chalani guard” for Vicky Soni, detained under the NDPS Act.

According to Jat, during court hearings, Madhubala frequently met him, and the two became acquainted. On one occasion, she invited him to her rented house, where she allegedly laced his tea with intoxicants, recorded an obscene video, and took compromising photographs. Madhubala then began blackmailing Jat, demanding large sums of money to prevent the footage from being released.

Over time, she extorted thousands of rupees, even forcing him to make online payments for goods purchased. The extortion escalated when Madhubala allegedly demanded Rs 1 lakh from Jat, threatening to make the video and photos public. She and her husband then demanded Rs 5 lakh, threatening to falsely accuse him of rape.

The situation came to a head on September 3, when the couple visited Jat’s house to demand more money, prompting Jat to inform his father, who alerted the police. Madhubala has been arrested and remanded in judicial custody, while her husband remains under investigation. Circle Inspector Ajay Kumar is handling the case.
