Sonbhadra/ Ghazipur (UP), March 2 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said the massive campaign ‘Operation Ganga,’ launched to evacuate the stranded Indian citizens from Ukraine, reflected the growing might of India in the global arena. “We will leave no stone unturned to bring back every citizen from the country safely,” he assured, while addressing election rallies here. Modi said that several thousands of immigrants have already been evacuated, while four Ministers have gone to Ukraine, as well as the Indian Air Force (IAF) planes have been deployed to bring back the remaining Indian citizens. “In the present global scenario, India needs to be more powerful, but it is possible only when India is self-reliant with least dependence on other countries for its needs and you can’t rely on these dynasts, who mock India’s self-reliance efforts through Make in India mission, humiliate our armed forces and question their valour, as well as spread rumours against our own vaccines for Covid-19, to make India strong,” he added. “We ran the fastest vaccination campaign and provided free ration to 80 crore people for two years during the Covid pandemic, including 15 crore in Uttar Pradesh, a fact which has stunned the world. Our government is working tirelessly to ensure that no child stays hungry in these challenging times,” he pointed out. Cautioning the people of Sonbhadra against opposition parties led by dynasts that looted its mineral wealth and denied power-supply to several of its villages for decades despite the fact that Sonbhadra supplied electricity to the entire Purvanchal region, the Pri
me Minister said that people were never their priority. Contrasting opposition parties with the achievements of the double engine government, he remarked, “Sonbhadra and many other districts are endowed with rich natural resources. But the previous governments headed by opposition parties looted minerals and left people to fend for themselves. Our government has set up District Mineral Fund, from which the states will get Rs 50,000. Besides, a portion of the revenue earned from minerals will go to the place it belongs to.” The PM pointed out that the Government was also working on Sonbhadra in Akanshi Zila Abhiyan. “Moreover, we are building pacca houses and toilets, and providing gas connections, electricity and tap water to the poor. We have built thousands of houses in Sonbhadra alone and want to assure you that after March 10, we will ensure houses for every family,” he added. He said, “We have made a provision of Rs one lakh crore in the budget to build houses under the PM Awas Yojana and provide tap water under Har Ghar Nal Yojana. Ayushman cards are also being made for people, under which people can afford treatment at best private hospitals for up to Rs five lakh.” According to the Prime Minister, previous governments gave MSP on 8-10 crops while the NDA Government was giving MSP on 90 crops. He said that two lakh small farmers
of Sobhadra and five lakhs of Ghazipur have received Rs 350 crore and Rs 850 crore respectively to their bank accounts under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi without any ‘corruption, or commission. Besides, 2.5 lakh women have got gas connections in Ghazipur. Taking a jibe at opposition parties, PM Modi remarked further that Ghazipur which was known for its brave freedom fighters, became a safe haven for the mafia and criminals during previous governments. He mentioned the cold-blooded murder of Krishnanand Rai and the burning of Dalits’ villages in Ghazipur in this connection. He added: “But today, under the Government led by Yogiji, rioters and mafia are on their knees in Ghazipur. Development of Ghazipur, with opening of Purvanchal expressway and building of highways to enhance connectivity is Yogiji’s priority.” The Prime Minister said the support being received by the BJP and its alliance partners Apna Dal and Nishad Party have already decided the verdict of election. He said, “I have seen many elections, but this election is unique. In these elections, it’s not us who are fighting, but the people are fighting on our behalf. “Dynasts thought that they would be able to divide the people along the caste lines and break society into pieces for their petty political ends, but they failed. People are voting for NDA for their own development and the development of the state. “These dynasts are always looking for an opportunity to loot money meant for people’s welfare and development, whereas I know it’s people’s money and that they should get it. We are making Labour Card for workers. We are also committed to ending land mafia in the state by expanding our Swamitva Yojana, under which property papers are being made with the help of drones, in order to give them to their rightful owners,” he added. Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, who attended the PM’s rally at Sonbhadra, urged people to vote for NDA, as it could pave way for Uttar Pradesh to become ‘Uttam Pradesh’
