Veteran Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Bharat Ratna recipient, Lal Krishna Advani, has been admitted to Apollo Hospital in New Delhi. According to hospital officials, Advani’s condition is currently stable, and he is being kept under observation. He is under the care of Dr. Vinit Suri, a senior consultant in the neurology department.

Advani, who is 96 years old, was brought to the hospital two days ago. This is not his first hospitalization this year, as he had been admitted to the same facility earlier. The reason for his most recent hospitalization has not yet been disclosed.

Political Journey of LK Advani
Lal Krishna Advani was born on November 8, 1927, in Karachi. At the age of 14, he became a member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), and after the Partition in 1947, he and his family migrated to India. In 1951, Advani joined the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, founded by Syama Prasad Mookerjee. He entered the Rajya Sabha in 1970, and by 1972, he became the party president.

Advani’s leadership during the 1975 Emergency was marked by his arrest, along with his colleague Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Following the 1977 Janata Party government’s rise to power, Advani became the information and broadcasting minister. In 1980, he played a key role in founding the BJP, guiding the party from two seats in the 1984 general elections to becoming a national political force in the 1990s.

His leadership in the Ram Janmabhoomi movement, advocating for the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, significantly increased the BJP’s political influence.

Advani served as BJP president three times and held key positions, including deputy prime minister and home minister in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led NDA government. In the 2009 general elections, Advani was named the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate, but the party did not win the election.
