UP BJP goes offensive after resignation of 2 ministers, MLAs

Lucknow, Jan 12(UNI) The Uttar Pradesh BJP has assumed an offensive stance after two OBC ministers tendered their resignations over the alleged insult of backwards and Dalits during the Yogi regime, asking why the issue of Dalit harassment was not raised during the last five years.
After Forest Minister Dara Singh Chauhan tendered his resignation on Wednesday, state Aviation Minister Nand Gopal Nandi said in a tweet that during the last five years Chauhan had never raised the issue of atrocities on Dalits during cabinet meetings and now, just before elections he is talking about government neglecting Dalits and backwards.
“He (Chauhan) copy-pasted the resignation letter of Swami Prasad Maurya and who is the scriptwriter everyone knows now,” Nandi said in his tweet.
Incidentally, the language of the resignation letter of Dara Singh Chauhan was identical to that of Swami Prasad Maurya, who had resigned a day earlier.
After the flurry of resignations in which three BJP lawmakers resigned, Vinay Tiwari, a senior BJP leader wrote on his Facebook page: “Mool hee shresht hai” (Orginal is the best) hinting that all those leaders who had joined BJP during elections have resigned.
The BJP media group even shared a FB page of Utkarsh Maurya in which Swami Prasad Maurya was seen calling the Samajwadi Party as sympathizers of terrorists.
