Union Textile Minister Giriraj Singh to Meet Panipat’s Textile Exporters

Giriraj Singh to Interact with Textile Manufacturers, Visit Industrial Units in Panipat

Panipat. Union Textile Minister Giriraj Singh will be visiting the textile hub of Panipat on Monday. During his visit, he will hold discussions with local textile manufacturers and visit various industrial units. The meeting, organized by the Handloom Export Promotion Council, will see the minister engaging with Panipat’s textile exporters and reviewing their operations. Prior to this, former Union Minister Smriti Irani had also met with textile entrepreneurs in the region.

The meeting will take place at the Nidhiwan Garden in Sector-25, where the minister will interact with Panipat’s exporters, learn about their work, and address their concerns. This is considered a significant opportunity for the city’s entrepreneurs. According to Lalit Goel, Chairman of the Handloom Export Promotion Council, the minister’s visit is an important event for local manufacturers to showcase their work and discuss challenges.

Panipat is home to about 20,000 small and large industrial units, with exports worth approximately ₹16,000 crore and a domestic market valued at around ₹80,000 crore. The region has transitioned from primarily producing blankets, bed covers, and bath mats to becoming a major hub for textile manufacturing, with both domestic and export markets thriving.

Demand for Mega Textile Park and Exhibition Center Local entrepreneurs have long been advocating for a Mega Textile Park and an Exhibition Center, which they believe will boost the region’s textile industry. These demands have been presented on various state government platforms, but tangible results have yet to materialize. Entrepreneurs are hoping that Minister Giriraj Singh will prioritize these requests during his visit and push for the establishment of these facilities. They are also expected to raise concerns about essential infrastructure, such as Zero Liquid Discharge and a Common Boiler.
