Twitter shifts its India head Maheshwari to US
New Delhi, Aug 13 (UNI) Social media giant Twitter, which has been embroiled in controversies here, has shifted its India Managing Director Manish Maheshwari to the US.
The social media platform has been in the eye of storm on several occasions. It has come under fire from both ruling BJP and Congress for ‘temporarily’ blocking their leaders’ accounts.
Maheshwari had been named by Uttar Pradesh (UP) Police in an FIR in a case related to showing wrong map of India on its website.
A Twitter spokesperson confirmed the development to UNI.
As per multiple reports, Maheshwari would be moving into a new role in Twitter and remain stationed in San Francisco as Senior Director, Revenue Strategy and Operations focused on New Market Entry.

Yu Sasamoto, V-P of Twitter JAPAC wrote in a tweet, “Thank you to @manishm for your leadership of our Indian business over the past 2+ years. Congrats on your new US-based role in charge of revenue strategy and operations for new markets worldwide. Excited to see you lead this important growth opportunity for Twitter.”
