Tourism, jobs creation and revenue would be enforced soon: LG Tamilisai Soundararajan

Puducherry, Jun 20 (UNI) Puducherry Lt Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan on Sunday said that she had prepared a detailed action plan to promote tourism and thereby generate revenue to the exchequer.
Releasing a book containing the work she had accomplished during the last 100 days after she assumed charge as the Lt Governor here, Tamilisai told newspersons that the action plan was also presented some days ago to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Home Minister Amit Shah and the Chief Minister of Puducherry.
She said that Puducherry offered good scope for development of various tourism related activities which included expansion of the airport, introduction of helicopter services and also water planes. These activities would not only generate job opportunities but also generate revenue for the Exchequer.
She said that Puducherry was now emerging as a best performing Union Territory in combating Covid 19. `When she assumed charge of Lt Governor in February this year she came to know that only 3000 people had received the anti covid jabs here. Now the figure has shot up to three lakhs and this was possible with the overwhelming response from the people`, she said.
