1825 – The first U.S. patent for food storage in cans – to “preserve animal substances in tin” – was issued to Ezra Daggett and his nephew Thomas Kensett of New York City where they canned salmon, oysters and lobsters since introducing the method in 1819.
1904 – Thomas A. Edison was issued a patent for an” Electrical Automobile” designed with a driving motor that may be conveniently and effectively utilised for the purpose of charging the batteries. Edison had 1093 patents to his credit in 84 years of life span! (pic credit-LinkedIn)
1915 – The first Zeppelins used in German bombing raids on Britain attacked Great Yarmouth and King’s Lynn.
1931 – The first Round Table Conference held in London ended. This conference was attended by Dr. B. R. Ambedkar apart from MK Gandhi and others.
1948 – India and Pakistan accept U.N. mediation.
1966 – Indira Gandhi elected leader of the Congress party to succeed the late Lal Bahadur Shastri as the Prime Minister of India. She pledged to follow path of Non-Alignment in world’s affairs.
1977 – World’s largest crowd gathering – the Hindu Kumbh Mela in India attracts a (then) record 15 million people in Prayagraj.
2012 – The famous film and camera company Kodak, files for bankruptcy protection.

1919 – Air Chief Marshal Omprakash Mehra, former Air Chief and Governor of Maharashtra.
