On March 06– 1886 – The Nightingale Magazine, the first issue of Nurses’ magazine published in Florence Italy, the place of her birth (born May 12, 1820), the nurse Nightingale born to a rich British family decided to serve injured patients in Crimean war and later was called ‘the Lady With The Lamp’.

1902 – Famous Spanish football club  Madrid Club was founded. Later renamed as Real Madrid.

1924 – Ismet Inonu  an army officer formed a government  in Republic of Turkey after famous Mustafa Kamel Ataturk (pic credit-Pinterest). 

1940 – Rabindranath Tagore met  MK (Mahatama)  Gandhi first  time in Santiniketan, Bengal.

1944 – During World War II, America as leader of Alliance, bombed Berlin and  Germany had to surrender alongwith Japan, Italy.

1961 – India’s first financial daily The Economic Times  launched in Bombay by The Times of India group.

1967 – Svetlana  Stalin youngest daughter of  Russian  dictator  PM  Joseph Stalin, defected to America to seek asylum in the United States. She clandestinely left through Russian Embassy in New Delhi and  denounced the tyranny of Communism . 1983 – First Footbal League  founded in America with first match between The Baltimore Colts and New England  at Tampa Stadium Florida.  Other teams were Los Angeles Raiders, Washington Redskins, Buffalo, Philadelphia etc.

1995 – Arun Tamhankar, the most popular journalist of his times, editor of Manorama Prakashan group   died in Bombay. He also wrote Palasdari, Sarpagandha, Shirtekdi, Tumhi Hi Mrtiyu Talu Shakta  and many  more novels.

1998 – Virbhadra Singh of Congress formed govt. in Himachal Pradesh. He was the titular Raja  of Rampur Beshehr state  (1947-71), belived to be descendents of  Pradhuman (son of Shri Krishna). He became 4th CM, stayed in power for 21 years in 6 terms. Was also a Lok Sabha member and central minister.  His wife Pratibha Singh is Congress Party chief in Himachal and son Vikramaditya Singh  a cabinet minister of Tourism.

Born:  1475 – Michelangelo,  legendary sculptor, painter, archetect and poet of

Italy. Born in Rewpublic of Florence, he is also famous a poet of Renaissance and rival to Leonardo da Vinci. He paqinted many famous and valuable artifects like David, Battle of Cascina (pics credit-Wikipedia).

1508 – Humayun. 2nd mughal king of north  India  extending from Afghanistan, Bengal  was the  son of Babur. He ruled during 1530-40 and 1655-56. He was defeated by Hindu warrior king Hemu in battle of  Kannauj  who established his  reign for a short period. Hemu was defetated by Akbar’s armies in Panipat and was killed.

1965 – Devki Pandit. Indian classic music composer, singer and actor. Disciple of popular music legend Kishori Amlonkar and Jitendra Abhisheki, she has worked with Hrydaynath Mangershkar, Ustad Rais Khan, Gulzar, Naushad,  Jaidev, Vishal Bhardwaj and Zakr Hussain. She has won several music and filmy awards like Gaurav Samman, Aditya Birla  Kala Kiran awards.                                                                                   1997- Janhvi Kapoor. Daughter of legendary film heroin Sridevi and Boney Kapopr, she is an actress,  made her debut in Dharak in 2018, then Kargil Girl, Student of the Year Good Luck Jerry, Gunjan Saxena etc., and upcoming RC 16 with South actor Ram Charan.   She was nominated tpo Filmfate award and won other accolades.

RIP : – 1836 – Devy Crockett. American military office, politician and businessman, who was known as the King of Wild  Frontier,  for his adventures, he represented Tennessee state in the United States House of Representatives and faught for Texas Revolution.

You May Have Known:  Henry VIII had  staff (slaves), who were called “Grooms of Stool” whose main  job was to wipe his bottom. During his reign he had four such persons, all of these were later Knighted.
