1879 – Richard S. Rhodes invented the Audiophone, the first hearing aid.

1889 – Nintendo is Founded.

1930 – Johann Ostermeyer of Athegnenber, Germany, patented his “Improvements in flash lights used for photographic purposes.” The modern photographic safety flash bulb evolved from this design.

1932 – The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is Founded.

1952 -1st closed circuit Pay-TV telecast of a sports event.

1965 – The Indian Army secured the Kashmir Valley and the only object left was to clean out the remnants of the Gibraltar Force. Under the guidance of United Nations, the cease-fire came into effect.

1999 – India rejects Pakistan’s proposal for an international conference on arms control.

2017 – Women are allowed in King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh for the first time during Saudi Arabia’s anniversary celebrations.

2021 – Fossilized footprints 23,000-21,000 years old from White Sands, New Mexico indicate settlement by humans of North and South America earlier than previous thought.

1908 – Ramdhari Singh ‘Dinkar’, poet and essayist. (He is considered one of the most significant Indian poets who wrote in the Hindi language. His inspirational and affecting poems continue to be recited by young and old who appreciate Hindi literature today. During his lifetime, Ramdhari Singh Dinkar’s poems inspired many and continue to do so in the present time.

1935 – Prem Chopra, Bollywood villain actor.

1943 – Tanuja Samarth, Bollywood actor (pic credit – Since Independence).

1957 – Kumar Sanu, legendary playback singer who sang memorable songs for Aashiqui, Saajan, Baazigar, Dil Hai To Maanta Nahi etc. (video credit – T-Series).

1863 – Rao Tula Ram, one of the leaders of  Independence War of 1857 . He was Yaduvanshi Ahir King of Rewari, now in Haryana (pic credit – Bharast Mata Mandir).

1939 – Sigmund Freud, Austrian father of psychoanalysis, best known for such works as Interpretation of Dreams (1900) and the New Introductory Lectures on Psychoanalysis (1933).
