TMC leader Anubrata’s jail custody term extended up to October 5

Asansol: A special CBI court here on Wednesday further extended the judicial custody of incarcerated Trinamool Congress leader Anubrata Mondal for another two weeks until October 5, a court source said.
After hearing the arguments and counter arguments of Mondal lawyers and CBI counsels.
CBI court judge, Rajesh Chakraborty ordered another two weeks of judicial custody for the politician.
Mondal’s lawyers had prayed for bail citing festival month and Durga Puja as their client would perform puja in home, the sources added.
Denying the bail prayer, the judge ordered two weeks JC and the politician will be produced again on October 5, 2022.
Mondal was arrested from his Birbhum house on August 11 by the CBI in connection with his alleged role in the cattle smuggling case across the border to Bangladesh. (UNI)
