Sixth Round of Talks Between Farmers and Centre Today: Shivraj Singh Chouhan to Attend

Farmers’ Leader Sarwan Singh Pandher Warns of Delhi March on February 25 if Talks Fail…

Punjab : The sixth round of discussions between the central government and protesting farmers is set to take place today, with Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan participating in the meeting. The farmers, led by their leaders including Sarwan Singh Pandher, have put forward several demands, including legal guarantees for Minimum Support Price (MSP) and debt relief.

Pandher has stated that if the discussions do not yield a positive outcome, the farmers will proceed with their planned march to Delhi on February 25. Previous rounds of talks between the government and farmers have failed to bring a resolution, with farmers insisting on legally binding commitments while the government has urged them to call off their protest and continue discussions.

Security has been heightened in Delhi and at various borders, with authorities preparing for any potential escalation. Farmers from Punjab, Haryana, and other states remain firm in their stance, calling for the fulfillment of promises made during the earlier protests.

The ongoing negotiations are crucial, as the farmers have warned of intensified demonstrations if their demands are not met. The government, on the other hand, is attempting to strike a balance between addressing their concerns and maintaining law and order. The outcome of today’s meeting will determine the next course of action in this prolonged farmers’ agitation.
