Shringla, Arab League envoy discuss growing bilateral cooperation

New Delhi, Aug 5 (UNI) Strengthening its ties with the Arab world, Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla met with the Ambassador of the League of Arab States here on Thursday and discussed growing bilateral cooperation between India and the Arab League.
“Foreign Secretary @harshvshringla met Ms. Alyaa Ghannam, Ambassador of the League of Arab States and discussed the growing bilateral cooperation between India and the League of Arab States,” Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagchi tweeted.
Arab League, also called League of Arab States (LAS) is a regional organization of Arab states in the Middle East and North Africa, formed in Cairo on March 22, 1945, following adoption of the Alexandria Protocol in 1944.
The broad mission of the 22 Arab nations is to improve coordination among its members on matters of common interest.
At the third Senior Officials Meeting of the Arab-India Cooperation Forum held in January this year, the two sides had vowed to boost trade and investment, and also stressed the need for deepening cooperation in combating terrorism as well as in ensuring freedom of navigation and maritime security.
