Shambhu-Khanauri Morcha Submits MSP Report to Center..
₹25,000-30,000 Crore Required, Dallewal’s Medical Facility Shut…
Chandigarh : The Shambhu-Khanauri Morcha has officially submitted its Minimum Support Price (MSP) report to the central government, outlining a financial requirement of ₹25,000 to ₹30,000 crore to implement the scheme effectively. The report highlights the feasibility of MSP implementation and urges the government to take immediate action to support farmers across the country.
Farmers’ leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who has been at the forefront of the protest, has reportedly had his medical facility shut down, raising concerns among the protesting farmers. Dallewal has been on a hunger strike, demanding the government’s commitment to ensuring MSP for all crops, a demand that has been a longstanding issue in the farmers’ movement.
The report submitted by the farmers’ unions argues that the estimated expenditure is within the government’s financial capacity and emphasizes the long-term benefits of securing farmers’ incomes. The document also details the potential economic boost that guaranteed MSP would provide, ensuring stability in agricultural production and preventing farmer distress.
Meanwhile, tensions remain high at the protest sites, with farmers continuing their demonstrations despite repeated appeals for negotiations. The shutting down of Dallewal’s medical facility has further intensified the agitation, with farmer leaders calling it an attempt to suppress their movement. Protesters have vowed to continue their struggle until their demands are met, even as security forces remain deployed in key areas.
The central government has yet to officially respond to the MSP report, but discussions are expected in the coming days. As the farmers’ protest gains momentum, all eyes are on how the government will address their demands and whether a resolution will be reached through dialogue.
