Several Congress, AAP leaders join Punjab Lok Congress
Chandigarh, Dec 23: Senior Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party leaders on Thursday joined the Punjab Lok Congress in presence of party chief Capt. Amarinder Singh.
Welcoming them in the party fold, the former chief minister said, their joining the party will strengthen it and will motivate others to join the party.
Former Sangrur District Congress Committee president and Chairman Planning Board Sangrur, Rajinder Singh Raja Bir Kalan joined the Punjab Lok Congress along with several of his supporters.
Speaking on the occasion, he said, the Congress party was at war with itself with PCC president Navjot Singh Sidhu and Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi pulling in different directions. He said there was complete disillusionment and frustration among the Congress rank and file and very soon many more party leaders and workers will join the PLC under the leadership of Capt Amarinder.
Former Gurdaspur District president of the Aam Aadmi Party Baghel Singh also joined the PLC today along with several of his supporters. He was inducted into the party by Capt Amarinder.
Baghel Singh said, the AAP had completely vanished from Punjab and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was spreading lies like nobody else. He said, Kejriwal had still not given up his dream of becoming the Chief Minister of Punjab.
Baghel Singh has been appointed District president of the PLC for Gurdaspur-I comprising of Gurdaspur, Qadia and Dina Nagar constituencies.
