Perth: Rohit Sharma, the captain of India, will not be available for the first Test match against Australia in Perth, according to former cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar.
The two mainstays of India’s batting in contemporary cricket, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, are nearing the end of their remarkable careers, and their performances, dare we say it, reflect this. Rohit and Kohli have never been so disconnected prior to a major series like the Border- Gavaskar Trophy. India has never traveled to Australia after losing 0–3 at home. But according to former Indian batsman Sanjay Manjrekar, Rohit and Kohli will be at “home” in Australia.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will be thinking, ‘It’s really fantastic. We’re going to play in a place that seems like home. They were having a lot of trouble with turning pitches. For Rohit Sharma, facing pace and bounce is not an issue. During India’s most recent tour of South Africa, Virat Kohli looked like the country’s best player. There will be a breath of relief for him. They consider it to be a home away from home,” Manjrekar told Star Sports.
The availability of Rohit for the Perth series opener is a major concern, though. The Indian captain is still in India and won’t make up his mind to leave for Australia until his second child is born.
