Sampat Singh Targets Hooda in Hisar, says Congress Can’t Progress Until “Dirt” is Removed

Haryana : In a sharp verbal attack, former minister Sampat Singh, without naming him directly, targeted former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda. Addressing a gathering in Hisar, Singh expressed his dissatisfaction with Hooda’s leadership, mentioning that despite widespread support for Congress from farmers, soldiers, wrestlers, employees, and traders, the party could not secure victory. He pointed out that people were ready to give Congress all 10 Lok Sabha seats, but Hooda did not want that to happen.

During the speech at a gathering organized by former MLA Ramnivas Ghodela, Singh said that if Shruti Chaudhary had been given the ticket in the Bhiwani-Mahendergarh constituency, Congress would have won without a doubt. He also criticized the party’s internal dynamics, saying that some leaders worked against people’s interests for personal gain. He claimed that Congress leaders in Karnal played a role in getting Manohar Lal elected by sidelining their own party candidates.

Singh reflected on his long political journey, emphasizing his seniority in politics. He mentioned that in 1982, he won as an independent and had been instrumental in shaping the Congress party’s success in 2009, when Congress secured 40 seats. He claimed that his joining Congress played a crucial role in the party’s victory that year, and without his support, the party would not have achieved those results.

Singh also stated that Congress’s internal conflicts and alignment with the BJP were weakening the party. He argued that Congress leaders were inadvertently helping the BJP win, by switching allegiances. Singh insisted that to ensure Congress’s success, the “dirt” within the party had to be eliminated, a process that would require a long and challenging struggle. He concluded by stressing that until the party addresses its internal issues, no progress could be made.
