Melbourne:  India captain Rohit Sharma was injured during a practice session at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) ahead of the Boxing Day Test against Australia. The 37-year-old was struck on his left knee while batting in the nets and appeared in significant pain.

Rohit continued batting for a while but later sought attention from the team physio, who applied an ice pack and helped him rest. Despite the injury, it is hoped that he will recover in time for the fourth Test, scheduled in just a few days.
