Lucknow, March 19: Uttar Pradesh unit president of Rashtriya Lok Dal Dr Masood Ahmad resigned from the post on Saturday and has written an open letter to the party president Jayant Chaudhary levelling serious charges against the top leadership. He has accused the top leadership of selling tickets during assembly elections, keeping mum on the issues of Dalits and minorities and not using leaders of RLD-Samajwadi Party (SP) alliance which led to defeat in the polls. Masood has said that while 10 SP candidates contested on RLD’s symbol, none of the RLD leaders contested on SP’s symbol though it was announced by Jayant Chaudhary himself. He has sought a reply from Jayant Chaudhary and SP president Akhilesh Yadav on these issues by March 21. “If you wish you can expel me from the party, but give a reply on these issues before or during the meeting on March 21 otherwise consider the letter as my resignation from the primary membership of the party as well,” he has said.
