Raja Warring Blames Factionalism for Seat Decline in Punjab..

Punjab : Congress leader Raja Warring has attributed the party’s massive decline in assembly seats to internal factionalism. Speaking on the current political scenario, he highlighted that the party’s strength has dropped from 58 to just 18 seats due to infighting and lack of unity. However, he dismissed rumors of a rift between him and Leader of Opposition Pratap Singh Bajwa, emphasizing that the two leaders are working together for the party’s revival.

Warring stated that Congress in Punjab suffered major setbacks in the last elections, primarily because of internal clashes and a lack of coordination among leaders. He urged party members to work collectively to regain lost ground and emphasized that factionalism could further weaken their political standing in the state.

Addressing concerns about his relationship with Pratap Singh Bajwa, Warring clarified that there is no conflict between them. He acknowledged that differences of opinion exist within any political organization, but both leaders are aligned in their efforts to strengthen Congress in Punjab. He also stressed that external forces are trying to create divisions within the party, but their unity remains intact.

Apart from internal party matters, Warring spoke about the significant role of migrant workers in Punjab’s economy. He stated that without migrants, the state’s industries, agriculture, and businesses would suffer heavily. Migrants contribute to key sectors, ensuring the smooth functioning of Punjab’s economic framework. He urged policymakers and residents to recognize and respect the contributions of migrant laborers, who form an essential part of Punjab’s workforce.

With upcoming elections in sight, Warring also hinted at a revamp in party strategy, focusing on grassroots connections and youth mobilization. He stressed the need for discipline within party ranks and called on Congress workers to prioritize public issues over personal differences.

Political analysts believe that Punjab Congress faces an uphill battle in reclaiming its influence, especially with the rising presence of AAP and the resurgence of BJP in the state. However, Warring’s statements indicate that the leadership is aware of past mistakes and is willing to take corrective measures.
