Purvanchal expressway to be inaugurated by PM on Nov 16
The 340 km long expressway from Lucknow to Ghazipur will connect Delhi with Bihar by Yamuna expressway
Lucknow, Nov 7 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the much awaited Purvanchal Expressway on November 16. The UP government on Sunday tweeted about the program of the PM about the inauguration of the Purvanchal Expressway by PM.
The inauguration program will be held in Sultanpur district at Kurebhar village on the 3.5 km long airstrip made on the expressway.
During the inauguration programme, fighter aircrafts would land on the expressway airstrip, officials here said.
The 340 km long expressway from Lucknow to Ghazipur will connect Delhi with Bihar by Yamuna expressway and Agra-Lucknow expressway. Bihar border is just 20 kms away from the Poorwanchal expressway where it ends in Ghazipur.
PM in July, 2018 had laid the foundation stone of the Purvanchal Expressway and it was completed in record time.
Purvanchal Expressway will cross through Lucknow, Barabanki, Amethi, Ayodhya, Sultanpur, Ambedkarnagar, Azamgarh, Mau and Ghazipur districts.
The new six lane expressway will commence from Chand Sarai village in Lucknow and it will cost around Rs 23,000 crores including Rs 1,719 crores given as compensation for acquisition of 1349 hectares of land from the farmers.
Meanwhile, additional chief secretary (Home) Awanish Awasthi on Sunday inspected the place where the inauguration ceremony will be held along with other officials.
