Punjab : Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring along with senior leader and Leader of Opposition in Punjab Assembly, Pratap Singh Bajwa, arrived in Gujarat on Wednesday to attend a two-day party convention organized by the Indian National Congress. The event, aimed at boosting organizational strategies and preparing for the upcoming political challenges, has attracted several key leaders from across the country. Prominent Punjab Congress figures including former minister Pargat Singh have also joined the delegation, highlighting the party’s efforts to project unity and collaborative leadership at the national level.
The two-day event is being held in Gujarat as part of the Congress party’s broader outreach initiative to rebuild its presence in regions where it has witnessed a decline in influence in recent years. Gujarat, being a politically crucial state, has been at the center of the BJP’s stronghold for decades. With the 2024 Lok Sabha elections concluded and preparations beginning for state-level elections and organizational restructuring, Congress is making strategic efforts to reconnect with its grassroots and revamp its political narrative.
Raja Warring emphasized the importance of inter-state collaboration and party unity during his interaction with the media. He stated that the presence of Punjab leaders in Gujarat symbolizes the party’s pan-India commitment and its willingness to share successful regional strategies to rejuvenate the national framework. Bajwa echoed similar sentiments, expressing that such conventions allow senior leaders to brainstorm, assess regional performance, and contribute to a united vision for the party’s future.
The Gujarat convention includes closed-door strategy sessions, public outreach programs, and discussions on key policy matters. Leaders are expected to deliberate on electoral reforms, grassroots mobilization, youth participation, and counter-narratives against the current central government’s policies.
Congress hopes to use this platform to build momentum for a renewed political presence in states like Gujarat, while also offering a morale boost to the party workers from Punjab and other regions. With leaders like Raja Warring and Bajwa taking proactive roles, the party aims to project a sense of leadership continuity and collective mission as it moves forward in a dynamic political landscape.
