Punjab Bypoll Results: AAP Leads in Gidderbaha & Chabbewal, Congress Ahead in Dera Baba Nanak & Barnala
Initial Trends Show Close Contest Between Key Parties in Punjab Bypolls
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is leading in the Gidderbaha and Chabbewal (SC) Assembly segments, while the Congress party is ahead in the Dera Baba Nanak and Barnala constituencies, according to initial trends in the ongoing counting of votes from the Punjab bypolls held on November 20.
In Gidderbaha, Congress candidate Amrita Warring, who is making her electoral debut, is facing a tough challenge from AAP’s Hardeep Singh Dimpy Dhillon. As of now, Dimpy is ahead by over 1,500 votes, closely followed by Warring. The bypolls were called after the incumbent legislators vacated their seats following their election to the Lok Sabha earlier this year.
The bypolls in four Assembly segments — Gidderbaha, Dera Baba Nanak, Chabbewal (SC), and Barnala — are seen as a crucial test for the major political parties in Punjab. While AAP has made significant inroads in the state, Congress is aiming to hold onto its traditional strongholds.
Stay tuned for further updates as the counting progresses!
