Pt. Nityanand Haldipur is honored with Tansen Samman

Gwalior: Eminent flutist Pandit Nityanand Haldipur was honored with the National Tansen Award at the 98th Tansen Samaroh, which commenced here on Monday.
The award carries a cash component of Rs 2 lakh and a citation.

Tansen Samaroh is a symbol of Ganga-Jamuni culture of harmony and social bonding. It was started by Gwalior rulers in 1924 as annual musical event to pay homage to immortal sangeet samrat Tansen, who adored the Darbar of Akbar, as one of te Navaratnas.
