Priyanka: Women electorate must support female candidates
Lucknow, Jan 18 (UNI) Congress national general secretary and Uttar Pradesh in-charge Priyanka Gandhi has appealed the women electorates to come forward in the support of female candidates during the UP Assembly elections.
While interacting with the women through social media on Tuesday, Priyanka said, “I want to tell my sisters to support female candidates from wherever they have been fielded. Attacking the law and order situation in the state, she alleged that atrocities have been committed on a number of Congress candidates by the police and the government.
“We have decided that we will snatch the power from the hands of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and will give to those on whom atrocities have been committed,” he said.
On the mud-slinging campaign against the party candidate from Hastinapur seat Archana Gautam, Priyanka said she has reached this height after much struggle. Mud slinging was being done unnecessarily. “Maybe the opposition parties think that our candidates are weak, but we have given them tickets so that those who are victims in their lives and are struggling can be made strong,” she said.
On a question she said that the women’s marathon had to be cancelled due to Covid. But, now the party has decided to conduct online competitions. She appealed to the girl students to participate in these online competitions.
