President Droupadi Murmu Praises Punjab’s Contribution to Nation and Humanity..

Punjab : President Droupadi Murmu, during her three-day visit to Haryana, Punjab, and Chandigarh, praised the people of Punjab for their dedication, service, and contributions to the nation. Speaking at a civic reception hosted by the Punjab government at the Indian School of Business in Mohali, she highlighted the significance of Punjab’s culture of selfless service. She noted that langar in gurdwaras worldwide is open to all, irrespective of background, and that people across the globe have learned the art of community service from Punjabis.

The President also acknowledged the immense contribution of Punjab’s soldiers to the armed forces. She stated that Punjab has produced exceptional individuals who have made remarkable contributions to various fields, including social reform, education, science and technology, industry, sports, politics, and community service. She emphasized Punjab’s leading role in India’s agricultural progress, especially during the Green Revolution in the 1960s, when the country faced severe food shortages. Thanks to the efforts of Punjab’s progressive farmers, India achieved food security. She expressed confidence that Punjab’s farmers and agricultural scientists would once again lead the country in adopting environmentally friendly farming practices.

Welcoming the President, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann called her visit a historic moment for the state. He expressed hope that she would experience Punjab’s rich cultural heritage and warm hospitality during her stay. He lauded President Murmu’s journey of perseverance, vision, and commitment, comparing her leadership to global figures like former U.S. President Abraham Lincoln.

The Chief Minister also highlighted Punjab’s dual role as both the country’s food provider and a stronghold of national defense. He commended the hardworking and determined farmers of Punjab, who have played a crucial role in making India self-sufficient in food production. Punjab remains not only the food bowl of India but also a crucial force in safeguarding the nation’s security.
