PM Modi to lay stone of Rs 11,281 cr projects in Mandi today

Hamirpur, Dec 26: All is set for the Prime Minister Narendra Modi rally at Mandi on Monday to take part in the completion of four years of Jai Ram Thakur-led government in the state.

The HP Chief Minister, Jai Ram Thakur has been doing rounds of the Mandi town for the last one week by shuttling between Shimla and Mandi to take a personal look at the preparation of the rally and to ensure that maximum numbers of people were present in the Paddal ground where the rally will be held.

Teams of SPG and other central agencies have already taken control of the town and proper security check is maintained all around.
The rally is going to give a boost to the sagging image of the BJP leaders of the state who were upset after losing three Vidhan Sabha by-elections and one Lok Sabha election from Mandi seat recently to the Congress party at a time when the next Vidhan Sabha elections in the state will be held next year and the party is going to complete the Mission of Mission repeat 2022.
All senior state-level leaders of the party including two former Chief Ministers, Shanta Kumar, and PK Dhumal are also likely to attend this historic rally, claimed a spokesman of the party. He told UNI last night that it was for the first time that any Chief Minister visited his own bazaar to invite the people in person for the rally. Jai Ram Thakur accompanied by other state-level leaders of the party visited Mandi town and invited people by visiting from shop to shop and that was a matter of surprise for all.
It’s worth mentioning here that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would address the people of the state from Paddal ground in District Mandi on 27th December 2021 on the occasion of Bharat Ki Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Golden Jubilee of statehood of Himachal Pradesh, and completion of the four-year tenure of present State government.
On this occasion, Prime Minister would dedicate and lay the foundation stone of development projects worth Rs.11, 281 crores in the state. These projects would include the dedication of the 111 MW Sawra-Kuddu Hydro Electric Project (HEP) constructed with an outlay of Rs. 2081.60 crore on river Pabbar in district Shimla. The Sawra-Kuddu HEP would generate 386 Million units of electricity per annum, which will generate annual revenue of about Rs. 120 crore to the state.

The live storage of the dam would be 498 Million Cubic Meters, which would fulfill about 40 percent of the drinking water requirement of Delhi.

The Dhaulasidh Hydro Electric Project would lead to the reduction of 2.4 lakh tons and Luhri Hydro Electric Project would lead to the reduction of 6.1 lakh tons of carbon dioxide from the environment annually, the official spokesman added.
