PM Modi to inaugurate Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital in Mohali today

Chandigarh/Mohali: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Mohali today afternoon to inaurate Homi Bhabhja Cancer Hospital & Research Centre in Mohali’s Medicity area, adjoining Chandigarh. Foundation stone for the 300-bed hospital was laid by former PM Manmohan Singh in 2013.

The Hospital director Dr Jigeeshu Divatia told media sometime back, that all OPD services at the hospital will be made fully operational following the inauguration. “The OPDs are equipped to offer services for surgical oncology, medical oncology, radiation oncology, palliative care and preventive oncology, apart from chemotherapy, radiotherapy, radiology, CT scan, MRI, ultrasound, X-ray, mammography, day care, pathology and lab facilities.”

The BJP state unit is also planning to mobilise cadre for the show to be addressed by the PM. BJP insiders say even as the state government claimed to have assured the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) about mobilizing at least 5000 people for the event, including health workers and aanganwadi workers.

Punjab BJP has been asked to mobilize at least 10,000 people for the gathering to be addressed by the Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi during his visit to Mohali on August 24. The PM will be inaugurating Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, at Medicity in New Chandigarh (Mullanpur).
