Patiala Farmer Dies After Suicide Attempt Over Jagjit Dallewal’s Health

Ranjodh Singh, distressed by the condition of farmer leader Dallewal, consumed sulphas at Shambhu border.

farmer news IndiaPatiala : Ranjodh Singh, a 57-year-old farmer from Ratanheri village in Khanna, tragically passed away on Tuesday after attempting suicide by consuming sulphas at the Shambhu border on Saturday. He was being treated at the Government Rajindra Hospital in Patiala.

The cause behind this extreme step was reported to be Ranjodh’s distress over the worsening health of farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who has been on a hunger strike in support of farmers’ demands. According to Ranjodh’s son, Sukhdeep Singh, his father was deeply affected by Dallewal’s deteriorating condition while present at the protest site. Ranjodh was later admitted to the ICU but succumbed to his condition.
