Chandigarh : The Border Security Force (BSF) successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt in Pathankot, neutralizing a Pakistani intruder attempting to cross into Indian territory. The incident occurred late at night when BSF personnel detected suspicious movement along the border fence.
According to officials, the intruder ignored multiple warnings from BSF troops and continued advancing towards Indian territory. The security forces opened fire in response, killing the infiltrator on the spot. A search operation was immediately launched in the area to rule out any additional security threats.
Initial reports suggest that the intruder may have been attempting to smuggle arms or contraband across the border. Security forces recovered certain items from the infiltrator, which have been sent for further examination. Intelligence agencies are now investigating whether the incident is linked to any larger terror plot or smuggling network.
The BSF has increased vigilance along the Indo-Pak border, especially in sensitive areas like Pathankot, which has previously been a target for terror infiltration attempts. Security agencies have also been put on high alert, and additional patrols have been deployed to prevent any further infiltration attempts.
This incident highlights the ongoing security challenges along the India-Pakistan border, where hostile elements continue to attempt cross-border intrusions. The BSF has reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the nation’s borders and ensuring national security.
Further investigations are underway, and authorities are working to identify the infiltrator and any possible connections to terror outfits or smuggling rings.
