Odisha to set up MSME parks in every district

Bhubaneswar: Odisha government has planned to set up Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) parks in each and every district of the state, a top official said on Sunday.
Speaking at the concluding session of Propack Odisha 2022 and MSME Odisha 2022 organized by Odisha Assembly of Small and Medium Enterprises (OASME), Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra said, “We are planning to develop MSME Parks in each and every district. Industries will get all infrastructure support there including land, electricity and water.’
IDCO has been given more than Rs 450 crore to develop required infrastructure across the state, he said.
Addressing the gathering Minister of MSME Pratap Kesari Deb said Industry bodies should come forward and suggest policy change for better industrialization.
Finance Secretary Vishal Dev asked banks to ensure availability of finance for MSMEs.
He said the MSME sector is an important pillar of economic development but it often faced funding problems.

Deb said the government is planning to associate with the state’s industries associations to create awareness and for capacity building of MSMEs to get institutional credit. (UNI)
