Mughal-e-azam of Indian cinema, Dilip Kumar laid to rest
Hero of epics stories 'Mughal-e-Azam', 'Devdas', 'Naya Daur', 'Ram Aur Shyam' and many more failed to complete a century. Breathed his last at 98 at Hinduja Hospital, Mumbai. 'Qila' was his last film in 1998.
Mumbai, NewsonRadar Bureau, July 07: The tragedy king of Indian cinema, Dilip Kumar succumbed to recurring health issues, early on Wednesday. He was 98. He was under treatment since last Wednesday at Hinduja hospital after complaining of breathlessness.
A tweet posted from the actor’s official handle by family friend Faisal Farooqui read: “With a heavy heart and profound grief, I announce the passing away of our beloved Dilip saab a few minutes ago. We come from God and we return to him.”
The news plunged many into mourning, with countless netizens expressing shock and condoling his demise.
In his career over five decades, Dilip Kumar gave hit film like “Mughal-e-Azam”, “Devdas”, “Naya Daur”, and “Ram Aur Shyam”. ‘Qila’ was his last film in 1998.
