Property Dealer Cheats by Taking ₹6.5 Lakh for Flat Sale and Giving Bounce Check…

Mohali: In a shocking incident in Mohali, a property dealer has been arrested for defrauding a customer by taking ₹6.5 lakh for a flat sale, but later issuing a bounced check when asked to return the money. The victim, a resident of Mohali, had approached the property dealer to purchase a flat and paid an advance of ₹6.5 lakh. However, after some time, when the victim asked for the return of the advance amount, the dealer issued a check, which later bounced due to insufficient funds.

The victim then lodged a complaint with the Mohali police, accusing the property dealer of cheating and fraud. Upon investigation, police found that the property dealer had a history of similar complaints, and he had been involved in multiple fraudulent activities related to property deals.

The police have arrested the accused and charged him with criminal breach of trust and cheating under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. Investigations are ongoing, and authorities are attempting to trace other potential victims of this property dealer. The accused is expected to appear in court soon, and further legal action will be taken.

This incident has raised concerns about the need for caution when dealing with property transactions, especially when dealing with advance payments. Authorities are urging buyers to ensure the credibility of sellers and property dealers before making any financial transactions.
