Maruti Suzuki offers to provide cover against engine failures

Partho Banerjee, Sr. ED-Service: Customer Convenience Package will cover 2 kinds of engine failures; will be available at Dealer outlets

New Delhi, March 16 (UNI) In a bid to strengthen its after-sales service, the country’s largest car-maker Maruti Suzuki has come up with customer convenience package (CCP) offering coverage for engine failures on account of hydrostatic lock and fuel adulteration. While hydrostatic lock leading to engine failure is caused by water getting into car, fuel adulteration also damages the engine and results in seizure. The CCP for car models such as Alto and Wagon-R would cost Rs 500 for protection against engine failures for either of the two reasons. In case of a customer choosing to take cover for engine failures both due to hydrostatic lock as well as fuel adulteration, it would cost close to Rs 700 yearly, a senior Maruti executive said. Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Director, Service, Maruti Suzuki India said that both new customers and existing car owners holding primary warranty would be eligible to take the package. “CCP is specifically designed to give assurance to customers in case of unwarranted and unforeseen failures faced by the vehicle engine due to hydrostatic lock or fuel adulteration. Our customers have a choice to sign up for any of these packages and avail benefits at any Maruti Suzuki authorized workshop, across the country,” said Banerjee. In its customer research, the car-maker found that customers today are more risk averse when it comes to their cars and believe in being prepared for any eventuality regarding their vehicle. Further, they look for assurance and convenience of service from the manufacturers for the upkeep of their cars. UNI
