Major Action Before SP Delegation Reaches Sambhal: Police Deployed Outside Opposition Leaders’ Homes in Lucknow

Ahead of the SP delegation's visit to Sambhal, police forces were stationed outside the homes of Opposition leaders in Lucknow, creating a tense atmosphere.

Lucknow : In a significant development ahead of the scheduled visit of the Samajwadi Party (SP) delegation to Sambhal, the Uttar Pradesh police have taken a preemptive action by deploying forces outside the residences of the Opposition leaders in Lucknow. On Saturday morning, the house of Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly, Mata Prasad Pandey, and the house of Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council, Lal Bihari Yadav, were both surrounded by police personnel.

The move comes before the SP delegation could arrive in Sambhal, and the police presence has raised questions. Lal Bihari Yadav confirmed receiving a letter from the District Magistrate (DM) of Sambhal, stating that no external individual, social organization, or elected representative would be allowed to enter the district until December 10. Additionally, police were also stationed outside the residence of SP President Shyam Lal Pal.

Mata Prasad Pandey, speaking to the media, mentioned that no formal notice had been issued to him regarding the police deployment. He expressed concerns about the government’s motives, claiming that the police presence was aimed at creating disturbances and covering up their own actions.

The letter from the Sambhal DM further emphasized that entry into the district would be restricted without the permission of competent authorities, raising questions about the timing and intent behind these security measures.
