Power sector Maharatna POWERGRID Celebrates its 35th Raising Day
Gurugram: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) – a Maharatna Central Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Power, celebrated its 35th raising day across the country with great zeal and enthusiasm. Union Minister of State for Power and New & Renewable Energy, Shripad Yesso Naik, joined the Raising Day celebrations with POWERGRID family at Gurugram on Wednesday, 23rd October, according to a company press note.
Minister Naik congratulated R. K. Tyagi, CMD POWERGRID and team for enabling One Nation, One Grid, One Frequency and realizing the dream of making one of the largest synchronous grids of the world. He also praised POWERGRID’s role in Energy Transition.
As on September 30, POWERGRID has commissioned and is operating 279 Sub-stations and more than 1,78,195 ckm transmission lines and 537,276 MVA of transformation capacity. With the adoption of latest technological tools and techniques, enhanced use of automation and digital solutions, POWERGRID has been able to maintain average transmission system availability of about 99.8%.
