Leopard breaks into a house roof near Pune
Nashik: A full growing leopard climbed onto a house to hunt a cat, but due to his weight and running, the metal sheet was broken and the leopard fell directly into the kitchen of the house at Lavit Shivar near Bhugar of the district in wee hours on Friday.
According to the forest department, after fell the leopard in Kitchen, the residents who were fast asleep were woken up by the sound and the screams of the leopard. Fortunately, the leopard did not injure any of the residents in the incident.
Shubham Balu Gaikwad owns a house in Lahvit village. Seven members of the house including three women and three children were fast asleep in the middle of the night. At this time there was a loud noise on the floor and suddenly rain water started pouring into the kitchen. This woke up all the members. They switched on the lights in the house and a leopard came into view.
After receiving information from the residents, Vivek Bhadane, forest ranger of Nashik Forest area, along with the rescue team reached the spot in the wee hours today. When the foresters and forest guards put nets around the house and inspected it in the light of electricity, no leopard was found in the house. He again climbed up from the place of the broken metal sheet and ran into the forest in the adjacent military area.
The forest department said that so far, the incident of a leopard falling into a house has not happened in Nashik before. (UNI)
