Latur administration plants 28,000 trees

Latur: Latur district administration on Sunday planted more than 28,000 trees by making a 10 km human chain to create a bio-chain on the banks of Manjra river.
Speaking on this occasion, District Collector Prithviraj B P said that planting trees was the need of the hour. The citizens have also realized this, as more participation was being witnessed by the citizens. It will be mandatory to plant trees in Latur district, he added.
With the participation of the district administration and citizens, trees were planted on the banks of Manjra river up to 10 km.
Collector of Tree Plantation at Bhatkhed Prithviraj BP and Chief Executive Officer Abhinav Goyal planted a tree and formally inaugurated it.
On this occasion, Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad Abhinav Goyal, Pasha Patel, Sub-Divisional Officer Sunil Yadav, Tehsildar Swapnil Pawar, Education Extension Officer Jadhav Nivritti and Group Education Officer Sanjay Panchgale were present.
The administration had got invaluable support from various colleges, schools, villagers and NGOs. (UNI)
