Jalandhar(Punjab): A major fire broke out late at night in Jalandhar’s Kot Kishan Chand area, causing chaos as residents rushed out of their homes in fear. The fire originated in a building that served as both a residence and warehouse, leading to a quick spread of flames. The incident left the neighborhood in turmoil as people scrambled for safety, and the area was filled with smoke and the sound of alarms.
Narrow Lanes Challenge Firefighters’ Response:
Due to the densely packed neighborhood with narrow lanes, firefighters faced significant challenges in accessing the fire-affected building. The limited space made it difficult for fire trucks to maneuver, delaying the firefighting efforts. Despite these obstacles, the firefighters persevered, taking multiple steps to control and contain the blaze.
Five Fire Engines Deployed to Control the Fire:
After receiving the emergency call around 2 a.m., the fire department dispatched five fire engines, arriving one by one to manage the situation. The team worked diligently to bring the flames under control and prevent further damage to nearby homes. Fortunately, after sustained efforts, the fire was successfully extinguished, with no casualties reported, though property damage is yet to be assessed.
