Kerala aims Solar-powered ferries

Thiruvananthapuram, Jun 27 (UNI) All passenger boat services under the Kerala Water Resources Department will be converted into solar-powered ferries, State Transport Minister Antony Raju said on Sunday.
The Government has given the administrative sanction of Rs 10 crore for the implementation of the project, the Minister said in a press release here this evening.
Currently, four boats having the carrying capacity of 30 people will run with solar panels, he added.
