Kejriwal tried ‘willful reduced calorie intake’ in jail: Delhi LG
NEW DELHI: In a Raj Niwas correspondence, Delhi Lt Governor VK Saxena said that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who is in Tihar jail under judicial custody, may be avoiding his medical diet and medications.
In a letter to Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar, the LG referenced a Superintendent (Prison) report on Kejriwal’s health to assert that the CM had multiple instances of “willful low calorie intake” while receiving home-cooked food.
The AAP government did not respond immediately.
Since the CM has Type-II Diabetes Mellitus, Saxena has advised the prison authorities to advise him to follow the recommended medication, insulin, and diet.
The Aam Aadmi Party has accused the BJP and its Centre government of “conspiring” to seriously harm Kejriwal in jail, claiming the leaders lost weight and had low blood sugar.
