“Kashmir Expo Start-Ups for Livelihood” will be held at SKICC from Today

Srinagar: A three day “Kashmir Expo Start-ups for Livelihood” event will be held at Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre, (SKICC) in Srinagar on Wednesday in which 55 start-ups from all across the country will participate.
Union Minister of State for Prime Minister’s Office Dr. Jitendra Singh is going to inaugurate the three-day “Kashmir Expo Start-ups for Livelihood” event at SKICC in Srinagar on Wednesday, officials said in Srinagar on Tuesday.
The expo is being organized under the aegis of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India at SKICC, Srinagar in association with National Innovation Foundation-India.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will represent the Jammu and Kashmir government at the event.
About 55 start-ups from across the country are participating in this start-up exhibition being organized in the conference Centre.
At the three-day exhibition, youth who have started with innovation in various fields will also come to display their products, technology, and services.
The central government is making continuous and effective efforts towards creating employment opportunities in the rural areas of Jammu and Kashmir and providing better employment to the local people in their home state.
To meet this objective, the ‘Kashmir Expo Start-up for Livelihood’ will be one which is being organized at SKICC tomorrow.
Since the Prime Minister Narendra Modi talked about ‘AtmaNirbhar Bharat’, in 2014 it fueled many ambitions within the country enabling India to emerge as the 3rd largest among the Global Start-up Hubs.
In the last seven years, some renowned start-ups have come up in India, which are empowering rural people by creating business opportunities for a better quality of life in rural India.
When Prime Minister Narendra Modi took power, there were only around 350 start-ups in the country, whose number has increased to 75 thousand today. The technology of these start-ups has been a game changer, paving the way for increased productivity and growth potential in rural areas, an official statement said. (UNI)
