Kamal Khan remanded into judicial custody till Sept 12

Mumbai: A local Borivali court here on Tuesday remanded actor producer Kamal Rashid Khan, popularly known as KRK, for his alleged controversial tweet of 2020 into Judicial custody till September 12.
He will be sent to Taloja jail in Mumbai.
Soon after he was remanded into Judicial custody his lawyers moved bail application to the court but the court has so far not passed any order on it.
KRK was arrested by Malvani police today morning after he landed at Mumbai Airport.
A FIR was registered against him on a complaint by Shiv Sena youth wing member Rahul Kanal regarding derogatory tweets posted by the actor.
On April 30, Khan took to Twitter to announce Rishi Kapoor’s hospitalization and said the actor must not die as wine shops were set to open soon. Similarly, a day before the death of actor Irfan Khan on April 29 KRK took pot-shots at deceased actor.
Police have registered the case under section 294 (punishment for obscene acts or words in public) and other provisions of the IPC. (UNI)
