Journalist Taggar Case: Lawyers, Farmer leaders join Media fraternity of Mohali Protesting outside DC office
SAS Nagar Mohali: Hundreds of media persons, lawyers and several farmer leaders sat on dharna outside city Dy. Commissioner office in Mohali. They were agitating over the unjustified arrest and false cases being lodged against a seniour journalist, Rajendra Singh Tagger, editor and producer of a channel Punjab Dastavez. Media fraternity was joined by several farmer leaders, lawyers and Social leaders of the area. They presented a memorandum to DIG Police and met ADC Tidke demanding dropping of ces against their fellow journalist RS Tigger.
Protesting media persons included President of Mohali Press Club and Corporator Sukhdev Singh Patwari, VP Sushil Garcha, General Secretary Gurmeet Singh Shahi and other members of the Mohali Press Club. Among the lawyers were Jaspal Singh Tupper, Darshan Singh Dhaliwal and farmer leaders Paramdeep Singh Baiudwan, Kirpal Singh , Balwant Singh and many more social activists.
It is understood the Distt. court has granted 4 days remand of the journalist on police demand.
