Jagan Mohan Reddy elected lifetime president of YSRCP
Guntur: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy was elected as the lifetime president of Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) on the second and final day of the party plenary on Saturday.
While addressing almost 4.5 lakh people during his speech, Jagan attacked the TDP, and said: “Chandrababu’s party history shows they have always backstabbed, whether it was NTR or the people of Andhra.”
“We are on the side of Dharma and they are on the side of Adharma. Vote for us only if our government’s welfare schemes have benefited you. We brought Disha law for our sisters, Disha app, Disha police stations, and public prosecutor for Disha were appointed,” he said.
“In our cabinet, we have five deputy CMs, four are SC, ST, BC and minorities. In TDP’s regime, not even a single ministry was given to ST or minorities. People of Andhra Pradesh need to decide on which side they are, on the side of Dharma or Adharma,” he said.
Jagan said YSRCP will win all 175 seats in the next election.
He thanked party workers and gave them the credit for forming the government.
“Since 2009 you all were with me… The party formed government in the state it’s all because of you. The party is yours; Jagan is yours.” he said.
The party’s constitution was amended to enable Reddy’s election as president for a lifetime. The voting took place on Saturday afternoon at the YSRCP’s plenary meet.
