India’s batting coach Sitanshu Kotak has expressed his full support for T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav, backing him amid his lean run of form. Kotak praised Suryakumar for his selfless approach, stating that he is playing for the team despite not scoring big runs recently.

Following India’s victorious T20 World Cup 2024 campaign, Suryakumar has struggled to return to his dominant form, managing only two fifties and 242 runs at an average of 23. Despite his recent struggles, including two disappointing performances in the ongoing T20I series against England, Kotak highlighted Suryakumar’s commitment to the team’s balance and success.

In the South Africa series, Suryakumar even took the decision to demote himself to the number four position to accommodate Tilak Varma, maintaining the team’s balance.
