Hosiery manufacturers demand continuation of TUFS scheme
Kolkata: The country’s hosiery manufacturers on Saturday urged the central government to continue the Technology Upgradation
Funds Scheme (TUFS) for textile industries and bring under its ambit all units so long left uncovered.
In a memorandum to the Minister of State for Textiles Darshana Vikram Jardosh, Federation of Hosiery Manufacturers Association of India (FOHMA) also called for developing a mechanism to bring stability and help small textile players handle volatility, while reducing their losses on procurement of yarn.
FOHMA President K B Agarwal also demanded an exemption for the Hosiery and Textile industry
from filing ITC-04 Returns with respect to job work.
The association organized an event for its golden jubilee celebrations during the day.
The celebrations included an industry-focused conference, a products exhibition, and a cultural program. A “Book of Brands” detailing the association’s memorable journey was also published. (UNI)
