Hit and Run claims lives of 2 Himachal students in Kharar, Punjab

Kharar (Punjab): Two students of Himachal Pradesh have been the latest victims of hit and run case,  on Kharar-Ludhiana Road on Thursday night (about 11.30 p.m.).  The students namely  Shubham Chandel (21)  and Neeraj Kumar(23)  belonging to Ghumarvin area of Bilaspur district (Himachal Pradesh) were attending a competition exam from an institute in Mohali.                                                                        (Shubham Chandel)

On Thursday, (January 18), late night some heavy vehicle hit their motorcycle,   injuring them seriously and ran away  taking advantage of darkness and fog in the area.  Punjab police took them to a local hospital in Kharar and later to Sector 32 Hospital in Mohali, where they were declared dead.  Bodies of the two young victims were handed over to their relatives on Friday. Cremation of the two was held in their home town today.  Large crowds of relatives and local villagers gathered at the cremation, expressing sympathies to the bereaved families, having lost their future hopes and bright siblings.
